Hi… My name is Jim. When I started this blog, I had my Technician Class Amateur Radio Operator License, or “Ticket”, all of one whole entire month. Like most folks with a new hobby, I did a lot of internet searching to get answers. As I struggled with different topics from studying for the exam, to how to get my Raspberry Pi Hotspot running on DMR… There’s a lot of helpful people in the Ham Radio community, and tons of information and resources on the internet on every conceivable related topic. What I found was very helpful, and I appreciate the time and effort the authors put into sharing that content.
I usually could find a simple, straightforward answer somewhere online, or on a Tech Net. But, sometimes answers were only found through much trial and error, or stumbling upon something missed (by me or the source) in the setup. During the early beginnings of this never ending knowledge quest, I had many “wish I’d have known that” moments. In this blog, I’m going to try to document some of those moments, as my contribution to the miasma of information that’s already out there in the blogosphere somewhere.
